From my year as the sole reporter/photographer for a local newspaper in Alberta, to covering agricultural topics in California, to following community councils on Vancouver Island, I’ve been on-the-ground relaying the things of greatest importance to small-town residents.

-Opposition to restarting coal mining

For one Comox Valley Echo project (which was picked up by the Victoria Times-Colonist), I looked at the potential for shellfish growers to expand local geoduck aquaculture industry.

In a Scotts Valley Press Banner / Pajaronian story, I looked at how a historical tourism operation is helping to shape transportation policy across Santa Cruz County.
